Heimathafen Film & Media GmbH is a successful independent film production company founded in 2014 and based in Hamburg.

We share a vision of developing and producing exceptional films and series for global audiences with our network of German and international creatives and production partners. We work closely with established distributors, broadcasters, streaming platforms, publishers, media agencies and world sales companies.

Our films have been nominated for the European Film Awards, screened at over 100 international festivals, and won numerous awards at A-list festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Sofia, Warsaw and many more.

As a member of the Producers Association PROG (Producers of Germany) as well as of the German-French Film Academy, we are truly committed to the future of German and European cinema.

Sebastian Weyland

Creative Producing

Sebastian Weyland studied Applied Linguistics in Cologne and Bordeaux. After completing his studies, he earned his spurs at various production companies such as Schmidtz Katze Filmkollektiv and Story House Productions in Berlin.

From 2007-2008, he earned his Master’s in TV and Film Production in Austria. Since 2010, Sebastian has been developing and producing feature films for an international audience as a producer. Sebastian is an alumnus of the International Producing Program at the International Film School Cologne and the International Co-Production Accelerator Program (“ICAP”) of the Canadian Media Producers Association.

Manfred Giesecke

Finance & Investor Relations

Manfred Giesecke completed an apprenticeship as a banker and then studied biology. After his studies, he worked in the educational sector for a year before moving into the analytical laboratory sector. Here he set up his own business and was CEO of an international laboratory service company until 2016. After the sale of his company, he entered the film industry as an investor and producer and has been a shareholder and producer at Heimathafen Film und Media GmbH since 2020.
